It's $300 but apparently doubles the amount of hot water. Seems pretty easy to install. I have 6 people in my house so the 80 gallon electric is gone after the first or second shower.

Why did YOU take long showers as a young boy

We are generally washing clothes or wife is doing something at the kitchen sink at the same time.

It requires a large amount of energy to heat water. Standard tanked heaters heat the water slowly over time and store it so that the standard utility services in homes are adequate in power to heat the water. The drawback is that you can run out of hot water if you use it faster than the heater can heat it. Tankless heaters heat the water on demand, but because it is so energy intensive to heat water, they typically require gas or electrical utilities to the house that are significantly upgraded over typical services to be able to deliver enough power to heat the water quickly.
This appears to be a very small tankless water heater that will run on standard electrical services that are in almost every house and won't require an upgrade to the house's utilities. It seems to measure the temperature of the water coming out of the tank and kicks on to provide additional heating when the tank starts getting depleted of hot water.
Basically, instead of being a powerful tankless water heat that is capable of heating water on the order of 60 or 70 degrees almost instantly, it's smaller and can heat the water more like only 10 or 20 degrees almost instantly. If the water from the heater going through the small booster needs much more than that, it's just going to keep getting colder, but the booster will make it take longer to get cold because of the additional heating it provides.

What size is your current water heater and how old is it? You might be better off taking that 300 bucks and purchasing a new larger heater.

Get another heater and put them in tandem.

This is exactly what it is. I sell a fair amount of these, as well as whole house tankless by the same manufacturer, and they get 5 stars from everyone.

So you recommend? I like it for the fact I can probably install it myself
Posted on 2/19/17 at 4:58 pm to go_tigres
You have to hook it up to a breaker panel, or does it run off 110...?

Electric water heaters are trashy.

CAD703X,
Just breaking your balls a little...
I actually would like your input on lighting, dimmers, switches, and semi-automation...I am building a theater room...I'll start a thread on the tech board later if you wouldn't mind chiming in...

I'd say get a tank less. Little bit more upfront cost. But then you have unlimited hot water. You can get electric or gas ones I believe.
