I have hung out with many different types of people, and comfortably say trashy

Ponchatoula isn't normally bad at all. Strawberry Fest brings them out of the sewers

I've gone a few times. I felt like the previous time was a fluke, and that it wouldn't ever be that trashy again.

I was wrong every time.

My BIL lives right off the park. We sit In the yard and bbq, listen to music from the bands playing and watch the drunks walk by.

The big news around Toula town, the Walmarks just opened on Hwy 51 just past Gateway Ford - crack hoes at the Hammond Walmarks are protesting. Seriously folks, nothing wrong with the Strawberry Festival - like any other festival in south Louisiana - well maybe the Jazz Fest - now that is hipster's paradise. There are dipshits everywhere - live with it.

Actually it gets dark way before then. Usually around 4pm. This a new trend at the fest, for like the last 5 years. For those that want to bring the kids for some family fun come Friday night. Family night on the grounds no alcohol. Saturday is good to before 4 or so. The parade is at 10am for those interested in that. Little advice for those coming in. If your coming from New Orleans take the causeway. Come down 12 and exit at the airport exit and turn south then take a right onto 22. This puts you a mile outside town you will avoid most of the rediculous traffic. Hwy 22 from the causeway is another route. Same for those from the BR area. Pass the usual route into ponchy. Get off 12 at airport and follow the above directions. Is it trashy? Maybe but all festivals are. No more trashy than the French quarter fest or any other festival. A lot of ppl must like it, it's the biggest festival in the state
