What's the wind direction over there? To be safe you should if it is out of the west.

You're good. It was the cloud blowing at the time with all of us downwind that was the concern.

I caught a whiff of it for a brief moment when walking tonight. I immediately turned around and headed back home.

Located off Highway 74 in Geismar.

You'd think if it were a huge deal that folks would get alerted via emergency broadcast system.

Home central ac units only recirculate the air that is already inside your house. I wonder why they are advising that they be turned off?

All plants have shelter in place guidelines and they almost always involve shutting off AC.

I wouldn't call it retarded, even though I've had the same thought that it doesn't quite make sense.

I don't know if I've ever smelled sulfuric acid. I've smelled HCl too many times. HCl is like a little mini punch to your nose when you smell it. Does sulfuric smell like rotten eggs?

From what I understand, there was a tank inside a dike that the man hole cover had water level above it. When they went to drain the dike the manhole cover gasket was leaking. They're trying to bring the water level outside the tank back up to cover it.

I just talked to someone on scene. It is contained. There is still a small leak they are working on, but basically it's contained.
