Baton Rouge to NOLA for me.... I don't mind the drive in the morning. Drink my coffee and listen to sports radio.

The drive home sucks every once in a while but I love my job.

I think it depends on the route/amount of traffic on a commute. I drove from Metairie to Thibodaux round trip daily for awhile and it wasn't that bad. I like driving Hwy 90 and looking at the cane fields and swamps along the way.

I drive ALOT and IMO, an hour of going 75mph is much easier than 20 minutes going 10mph.

I commute a mile to work. I go home to take naps, get nooners..., shite like that. I have a job scratching my balls by the way.

I would't drive from Lafayette to Opelousas. What's there that could possibly make that commute worth it? I hope you work for the hospital.

I've had a 90 mile commute since 2006. Did it originally for a 50% bump in pay. It's an easy drive mostly I-10. Have a wife and 3 kids at home and work in a large office so the drive is the only quiet time I have during my day!!

Personally I would much rather live in Covingtion/Mamdeville over Baton Rouge. I think most people would agree.

Most people I know commute NOLA to Cov for the same reasons I commute BR to Cov.
Cov is terrible.

I drive about 800 miles a week on avg. Work with all the refineries and chem plants. Drove 1300 miles last week. I'm home all but about 2-3 nights a month so no big deal to me.

I do 110 round trip...but it is reverse flow, so I am moving the speed limit the entire time. I also don't drive during peak rush hours.

I enjoy the drive. I do 55 miles in about 55 minutes---gives me time to catch up on my Phish listening!

I have a 19 mile commute each way.

Crazy thing is it takes an average of 1 hour each way and that is leaving at 7:30am and 6pm. Hour and a half commute if I leave at 8am and 5pm.

Honestly I hate it and it sucks arse.

Two problems though, getting from brickell through downtown miami takes 15-20 minutes to travel 1-2 miles. Population density is through the roof with 30-60 floor office buildings and condos on every corner and only two ways in or out.

Second is I would have to pay at least 800 more a month and at best could only have a bay view in brickell. Vs both an ocean and intracoastal view where I live.
