Anybody have experience selling fireworks?

I was offered a summer job selling fireworks for TNT Fireworks. They work in conjunction with Walmart, so the tent is set up outside of WalMart (which would be either Denham or Walker). He said in 2 weeks, the average sold is $20K in fireworks, and from that I'd make $4K. Only downfall is that you've gotta work 12-hour shifts and sleep there overnight, to prevent theft.

It's an easy job to do, really. It's like a lemonade stand except you're selling fireworks. The only part that sounds like crap is having to sleep in the tent overnight. If that's for real, that could be dangerous.

I-10 to 610 is slow going. 610 to the CCC has major delays due to a stalled vehicle. On the westbank, the elevated expressway is congested due to a vehicle that caught fire. Over the Bonnet Carre Spillway, you're lookin at delays after an overturned tractor trailer is being moved to the LaPlace exit.
Slow going at da' base of the Causeway, and I-12 is accident free from Mandeville to Slidell, and from Slidell to the state line.

I did TNT 20 years ago and it was pretty profitable before they stuck a stand on every corner.
You can't run a stand by yourself. So 4-5 people are going to split 4k for working 14 12 hour days plus spending the night every night?

why not, if you got the time, that's an easy 4K
You really cannot have a life while watching and selling in that tent. U cannot leave, they want some one watching the tent 24/7.
Used to know a guy who had a tent/stand for 4th. Some holidays he'd make a killing, weather was always the difference in breaking even or making a mint in 2 weeks time.

Actually I planned on doing it with 2 friends. I don't mind staying the night. Why do I need more people? Is the tent that massive?

You should be good, i thought u were doing it by yourself.
having friends work with you can pass the time, and you can have some one run errands during the day and night(food runs, etc).
Can you guys drink in tent(off hours)
