Any X-Ray techs out there?

I have a friend who is planning on moving to Tennessee. If they have passed their radiology boards in Louisiana and are an active tech, will they have to retake the board in Tennessee or will they still be good there?

Any help is appreciated.

TIA

If your friend is a register radiology technologist, he has taken and passed the national registry exam which is accepted in every state. He may have to obtain a license from the state of TN, but that should require only some paperwork and paying a fee.

If it is anything like other medical related fields, he likely has to just get a license for Tennessee.

Tell him to look into that and start the process now because it can take a while.

Medical license takes 8-10 weeks.

Scruff, pretty sure I have a boxers fracture on my right hand. Punched my tractor today. Treatment options without going to the doc?

I would suggest they call the governing board in Tennessee instead of asking random people on a message board.

There isn't a state regulating body your friend might have thought to ask before deciding to move?

Dude, I know it isn't what you want to hear, but you should go to a doctor. No way to tell how bad it is over TD.

It's the outer right hand halfway up. Done it many times before.

I never go to the doc unless I can't make it stop bleeding. Went to the doc last year with lower abdominal pains and they took my appendix out on Sunday and I was back to work on Tuesday.

I'm used to combat medics.

I'm gonna give give you the stereotypical doctor answer.

It could be something, or it could be nothing.

I'd say go at least get an X-ray done.

I'm a pediatrician though and we really don't know anything.

My wife has been an Xray/mammo/CT tech for 25 years. They will have to pass the TN boards to be certified in that states.

Surprisingly enough, many states do no require you to be "certified" in order to give an X ray.
