I am looking for a weight gain/muscle building supplement for my son and someone suggested Trutein. Anyone here ever used it? Pros and cons. Thanks.

Get some type of weight gainer if you must supplement.....otherwise just eat good.

Trutein taste good but is a mixture of whey, egg and casein I believe.

He is about to start two-a-days which includes weight training. He will have a hard time maintaining his current weight with all of the exercise. Looking for something to help with weight gain and muscle development.

Just go with something like ON's Serious Mass and another regular ON Whey.

One scoop of ON SM is 625 cals, 25g protein and 125g of carbs. The extra ON Whey scoop is to up the protein to 45g+ per serving without taking the full 2 scoops (1250 cals) listed on the ON SM label.

He needs calories with his workload and Trutein is a low calorie protein powder.

See my post above.

I am using trutein after my workout. Mostly cardio. Its not for putting on mass. I have lost 20 lbs in 12 weeks.

If he is young with a high metabolism........have him eat like a mad man. Eat everything in sight.........within reason.

Just have him eat a shitload of calories. Although the time to gain weight was after the season (December to august), not during two a days.

I tried every mass gainer I could find in high school, but the weight didn't add up until after playing sports and starting college. Metabolism was too high from growing and aerobic activity during practice. Gained 20#s my freshman year--all muscle, still worked out but wasn't running sprints/suicides/practicing for 3 hours per day.

If he's young and has a hard time putting on weight, have him a bunch of food like rice, chicken or beef, whole eggs, whole milk, PB&J, Pasta with Meat Sauce, Potatoes. For when he is done working out give him chocolate milk.

Basically just eat a ton of good whole food and he will get the calories he needs. Don't load him up on crap food like McDonalds and what not.
