Nonessential federal employees are home in DC and a shitton of schools are closed on the East Coast.

I have always thought that the easiest way to achieve some budget savings is to fire all the non-essential employees.

The roads have been plowed, but my apartment parking lot still has a lot of ice. I'm going to strike out at noon for a hamburger - tired of my baloney sandwich diet for the past few days.

I don't know - Mt. Mitchell got 66 inches. We got about a foot here just north of Asheville.

Beech mountain got about 1.5ft. We got around 4inches 1.5 hrs east in Winston-Salem.

We dug out yesterday. The end of our street was still plowed in from the main road plowing with about an 8 foot pile of snow. I haven't checked it yet today. We'll be back at work tomorrow.
