I've been looking at older models, specifically 1984-1987. I want an all-purpose Cruiser that's reliable and practical.

I know the reputation of Toyota and Cruisers in particular is generally good.

Any OTers have personal experience with FJ60 Land Cruisers?

Ask this on the OB. Put "paging motorboat" in the title.

What do you want to know?

The first one kinda looks like a gray market cruiser. I don't see any vents on the sides of the front panels or markers, side mirrors are from a 62 not a 60 and the rims from 1984-87 were chrome. Those aren't original either. Also should say toyota on the grill. Clean looking truck, though.

Second one has aftermarket side mirrors and aftermarket wheels. Also, missing toyota emblem like the first one.

You picked the right years, just know they won't get over 15mpg and are slow. They are 4 speeds so they scream at 75 mph (doesn't hurt the truck). Australia got the cruisers with the H-55 (five speed) tranny that you could install in any 40 or 60.
