Any of you pointer/retriever guys neuter your males?

Pros and cons? I understand I won't be able to breed him.

ETA: 1 month shy of 2yrs old. He's beginning to mark everywhere we go including several times in my house which I can't allow to continue. Just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing.

Your dog is more likely to be obese.

Although neutering does prevent prostate and testicular cancers, studies have shown that neutering your dog increases chances of fatal cancers.

Your dog will likely be less aggressive and more focused.

Mine is not neutered and he is a gentle sweetheart but other dogs bully him. I can't take him to the dog park.

I've read about the cancer liklieness in the above thread
