My FIL, RIP, used to smoke at least 3.5 packs of filterless camels per day.
The first cig was the only one that he used a lighter for, as the others were lit from the previous one.
He started smoking when he was 14 years old and quit cold turkey 11 years before he died. He said his body told him to quit but he kept the last unfinished pack in the cupboard next to his crystal ash tray and zippo lighter just in case he wanted to start up again.
I would love to know how much money he wasted on cigs in his lifetime.

Worked with a dude that smoked 4-5 packs a day, and he did this. I was working on tugboats at the time, he was a captain. Dude cooked lunch one day. Being a smoker myself, I couldn't believe it when he sat down with a plate of food and a lit cigarette. One bite, one puff, all through his meal
