Hyperbole, but more effective than "lining up all the pit bulls and shooting them"

Certain demographics are highly likely to be more violent. Should we line "all of them up" as well?

Attack the actual problem, not the knee jerk blanket solution.

Or maybe you should be a politician if that is your answer.

Though I'll never own one, I've never heard of a pit bull in a normal, responsible family killing or hurting anyone. I'm sure it has happened, I just don't think it is a serious problem.

The pit bull next door is awesome, I love her. She jumps in my lap when I come over and my golden makes her his bitch. I was pretty worried when I first saw how she acted through the fence, but once you're with her, she's docile as can be.

I've been raised around dogs all my life. I've seen them go bad, I've seen them go good. Either way it all goes back to two if three both of these two reasons:
1) Unsupervised children/visitors left alone with dog, turns into trajegy and dog gets blamed

2)bad genes/bloodline along with shitty owner

3) disobedient dog along with owner who lets the dog get away with everything

That poor little boy, only 3 years old

Really there's no excuse for having one of those dogs.

Well some arse hole ran over my dog and left him to die this past year. He was 12 years old and probably the sweetest dog I had ever known.

He never barked or growled his entire life. He would cuddle with my nephew and they would sleep together. He lived with my mom, (I didn't want to keep him in an apt), who was there at the house by her self 80% of the time. Even with how ungodly sweet of a dog he was, people would probably think twice about entering my mothers house if they were to see him. But you think my dog was useless and my mom is ghetto trash... got it

Yeah, until the day the pit snaps and kills your Golden. Our neighbor's pit was the sweetest thing, LOVED to play with my Mom's Golden Retriever. One day, out of the blue, the pit snapped, attacked the Golden, latched on to her back and would not let go. My Mom and the pit owner tried pulling the pit off, the owner ended up hitting it across the head with a two by four sevearl times to get it to release. Mom's Golden had bad puncture wounds on her back, and all of the skin and muscle torn from her bones. She had to have drains put in to clear the infection, and was scared to death of all other dogs after that. Sorry for your coming loss. frick all pit bulls.

Wow - a quintuplet negative!
My neighbor just got a pitbull - I can't fricking wait for it to get out and come onto my property. One of us is gonna get shredded by a shotgun blast and it won't be me.

I don't deserve to die, bro. My pit bull is out playing with children and maybe even rescuing people from house fires right now.

All pitbulls should be exterminated and their owners castrated.

So saying shoot the owners is just "hyperbole" while saying do away with the breed is not, it's "ignorant"? Okay.

You're putting dogs on the same level as humans here.

Attack the actual problem, not the knee jerk blanket solution.

Well the common denominator in these fatal attacks seems to be a single breed. Call me crazy but logic would dictate that breed is the problem.

Take the emotional aspect that people associate with dogs out of the equation here. Let's use an inanimate object like a car as an example. Let's say Honda came out with a model of car that got to be really popular. Then suddenly one day one of these cars just exploded while going down the road for no reason and kills the kid in the back seat. The next day another one of these cars does the same thing. Later that same day another one of these models explodes and kills an 85 year old woman. Would you support?

(a) destroying all the models of that car

or

(b) shooting everyone who owned that car

Have the dog people showed up to say pit bulls only attack when provoked or are scared yet?

This case sounds like the kid didn't provoke them, unless I'm missing something. So that leads me to believe they just were in the cage, saw the kid as prey, broke open the cage and attacked to kill.

Real wonderful breed of dog to have around kids alright. I can half arse understand a provoked dog attacking but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

I never liked pit bulls, and then my dog got attacked by one. Really hated them after that. Then about 3 months after the first attack yet another pitbull tried to attack him. frick that breed.

Just putting this out there...I heard a vet say if a pit bull attacks you should stick a finger in its arse. I am waiting for someone to actually try this method

ETA: not making light of your moms Golden...they are great dogs.
