As with everything, you'll get what you pay for in terms of quality and longevity. It's been my experience that it's pretty much downhill with a plasma the day you bring it home. If they've corrected the sinking problem then I might change my tune, but LED picture is better.

The real question is how smart do you want your tv to be.

Ive had my Samsung plasma since '07 and it still is the best picture/tv in my house. I also have an lcd and led. Zero issues with it. Still looks as good as the day I brought it home

I just got a 50" LED Samsung, UN6000 series. It's a little more than $500 but it's LED, picture looks great.

I don't need it to be that smart. I have appletv and all that jazz so just need her to turn on and off when I want.
