Another BLM/white guilt topic

I've always wondered this. I can trace my heritage to Italy very easily and still in the 20th century. That means "my people" had nothing to do with all the slavery that went on here because they were enjoying wine and spaghetti in the motherland.
Does this mean I'm exempt of white guilt? Should I ask black people if that's cool?

According to my grandpa, you're part black anyway if you're Italian. Join the movement brotha.

Not a single American man alive has ever owned a slave in his lifetime. White guilt should be extinct. Not to mention, am I really to feel guilty when their own people sold them off to begin with?
ETA: Slavery ended a long time ago because we realized it was fricked up as hell. It's like some black people refuse to let the past die. How many years of retribution is it going to take? A black man has sat as the most powerful man in free world for the past 8 years.

I agree 100%, but in their eyes, we have white skin, so therefore our ancestors were here and owned slaves. But my ancestors clearly weren't here. So I win?

Your ancestry of Roman slaveholders paved the way for the Americas
I have to add that the above is a joke, since some sensitive hipster will otherwise create a whole thread.

Slavery isn't dead, they still sell their teenage daughters to men for fricking cows in Africa. That daughter then just becomes a sex slave to have children and clean the hut.

You traced one or a couple branches to your family tree. You aren't any more descendant of one branch than the other. If your family has ever married an American not straight off the boat, you're guilty as frick!!!!!!!

No one is saying that you need to deel guilty about it as if you did it. But it is a bih part of our history, that we will never forget.
And slavery did not end because it was fricked up. It ended as a means to win a war. By far, most people in the country were still in favor of slavery then. Thats why it took over 100 years for black people to finally be free. And still, the affects of everything that happened in the past in this country, is still being felt today.

Okay, so now that we established I shouldn't feel guilty about this, what is my role as an innocent white male? Can the black population stop shoving BLM and white privilege down my throat now?

Stop accepting the Marxist assumption that you have to explain yourself or apologize in some way. It's a ludicrous premise on it's face. For the love of God, quit indulging these vapid theories and premises.
