An idea for those who feel "oppressed" by the laws of our country

It seems now the cool thing to do is feel oppressed or "unsafe". We always see in the news that people complain they are oppressed by our system and that it's unfair. That it's cool to latch out against authority.
Here are some examples of those who are "oppressed"
Women feel oppressed and want equality.
African Americans feel oppressed, comparing modern times to slavery and the Jim Crow Era
Illegal Immigrants feel oppressed because we won't open our borders to them freely anymore
Muslims feel oppressed by western ideas
However, current day America is one of the most democratic societies alive. People even have the ability to leave if they choose to, a freedom granted by the ability to speak freely about displeasure. Why aren't they leaving if it's bad for them?
women aren't forced To stay home and raise/nurture kids or wait on their husbands hand and foot. or to hide their bodies
We don't have slavery, and schools and society in general are integrated. Public education is free and people have the ability to live where they want. They also have the ability to pursue careers and education previously unavailable.
Some states are opening sanctuary cities and are refusing to deport illegals. And some Americans are fighting for their rights.
So where is this feeling coming from? Is it the media, parents, schools? Is it movies, books, or tv? Why are people urging to be oppressed, when they've never been oppressed before?
Downvote away if you'd like, but this is not a troll thread and is meant for actual discussion.

More people are claiming it openly because the current day nanny state perpetuated by Left leaning ideology rewards them for it.
It is a learned behavior. Period.

Your post makes me wish we had a board dedicated to nothing but political discussion. That would be super don't you think?

Why do cops constantly bitch and moan about not getting "the respect we deserve"?

Is this political though? This is more a society based question with barely anything to do with government.

Why do you think I'm a cop?

the answer is that people want a cause
there are not that many real causes in present day America, so they either latch on to very small causes, or just make them up and run with it
it gives them purpose

Seems me and the OP are both white. One of us can't deal very well with all of the others he listed and one of us can.
Why is the OP such a pussy? Why is he using strawpeople to cover his bases? Anyone?

That's fair enough. Thank you sir.
