LINK Man this looks bad. God bless all the servicemen and women who volunteered to put their lives in harms way.

It's Afghan army, not US. Still shitty nonetheless.

Those deep buried IEDs are no joke.

I wonder how many drinks the driver in front of them had that night.

Not going to watch but that is almost exactly how my close friend from HS died in 2011. 63rd Explosive Ordnance Disposal Battalion, 20th Support Command, Fort Polk, La.

22 is way too young to die.

RIP.

Respects to your friend.

ETA:

That charge was placed under (before) the black top was put down. Would love to know who got that contract.

I couldn't even imagine how you would feel the next time you had to go out in a convoy after that.....frick.

Must be pressure plate ied. I know earlier last week there was a soldier in jbad that was Kia by a suicide bomber I thought. The news reported it as the first American Kia this year. I'm not sure though.

I know all the violent stuff that's being reported so far has been at jalalabad. Which is in the eastern part and borders Pakistan. It's just the beginning of fighting system I don't think Afghanistan even has a head of defense or even a general of the ana

You need to watch that hour long video that ISIS made, they have some that launch MRAPs like 50 feet or more straight up into the air, Humvees go even higher. It is fricking nuts.

I've never hit on but I did see one hit either the husky or buffalo? That the rcp uses. I'm not sure how big the Ied was but fortunately it didn't hurt anyone and the vehicle wasn't too bad.

Did see my fair share of trucks on the fobs that were messed up from them as well as plenty of trucks that were set on fire.

There were many days where the sun rose before 5am in the stan.

Looks like there may be some kind of culvert there. But it's hard to tell.

It used to happen a lot in Iraq bc the roads were constantly being repaired from bomb potholes and whatnot, noone ever questioned people covering potholes and sometimes they would do it in the dead of night.

I remember one they did on Route Irish in Iraq that blew the fricking turret off an Abrams and flipped it over. I was more terrified of deep buried IEDs than I was EFPs, or anything else for that matter.

Yeah the deep ones are scary. Haji has too much time on his hands.

I remember seeing these vehicles (I think busses) in Kabul that would go about 70-75 mph at night bc they didn't wanna hit ieds

I guess Iraq to all our military guys is like the city version of Vietnam. Hidden bombs and booby traps all over the place. How do you even know what to look for? A coke bottle, piece of paper, small wire, all somehow have a bomb attached?

I was thinking more like remote triggered. Otherwise the semis woulda set it off. Plus the a-hole filming knew it was gonna blow.
