First I hate when scifi and fantasy is lumped together, but that can be a different thread.

LINK

Pretty good I suppose, but the one that jumps out at me that is missing is The Mote in God's Eye.

Did they seriously deign to make a Top 100 sci-fi/fantasy book list without Dune in the top 5?

I read The Kingkiller Chronicle and it was good.

When I was in elementary school and middle school I read all the Brian Jacques and Piers Anthony books.

Leviathan Wakes is also a great one, not sure if I would put it on the list or not but definitely worth a read.

It's not a list but shown in icon or small window format.

Several great ones on that list, I think the best one is Altered Carbon by Richard Morgan. One heck of a ride. It's already been optioned for a movie but it's probably too complex, IMHO it would make a heck of a miniseries.

Omissions IMHO would include at least one or two by Peter F. Hamilton, my choice if limited to one would be Fallen Dragon.

We're sorry. We can not find any matches for your search.

Eta: am I doing something wrong? The title of the window is top 100 sci-fi/fantasy.

ETAA: I see it works on my computer but not my phone.

Dune is on there. Only the first book though. The only Asimov book is I, Robot, which I think was included only because a top 100 list would lose all legitimacy without at least one Asimov novel. Personally I don't think it's nearly his best novel, but I guess it's just a nod to the influence of the three laws of robotics.

ETA: Also, I will always consider the greatest Science Fiction novel ever written to be The Starmaker by Olaf Stapledon. An extremely ambitious and beautifully written book that Arthur C. Clarke considered "possibly the greatest work of imagination ever." It unfortunately does not get nearly enough attention. Its companion First and Last Men is pretty great as well.

I don't think that there's any sorting in the list, just all 100.

Can't complain about any of the stuff that I've read that was included. I would have included Swan Song, though. Will read Hyperion or Old Man's War next.

I just finished first two books of the trilogy " Fitz and the Fool " by Robin Hobb and really enjoyed them. The downside is that book three isn't published yet, so you'll have to wait if it's a series you enjoy.

They have Red Rising on there. Loved that book, have yet to read the 2nd book. If it gets the right funding and team behind it it could be a huge movie series. Tons of potential there.

Easily top 100. Go to page 2; it's #165. To Your Scattered Bodies Go by Farmer at 184 is another that should be in the top 100.
