Am I the only one....

....that finds tv shows and movies trying to showcase potential singing talent highly annoying?
I first noticed it in Star Trek with Nichelle Nichols.
Another example is the annoying "singing" in the kids show "Jessie."

My daughter is 7 and will age out of that stuff soon. Frankly I find Caillou, Kipper, etc far less irritating.
At least with Disney shows there won't be vulgarity.
