"Druggie" is a societal term. fricking idiot is the term that should be used when people abuse chemicals and give busybodies a reason to ban said chemicals and ruin it for everyone else who have a normal level of self control.

He probably would best be described as an addict, not a druggie.
Granted his addiction is to a chemical substance, it would be hard to classify him as a druggie as the term is commonly used

If you aren't drinking or smoking, then (IMO), you are doing heavy shite.
I knew a guy that was a functioning heroin addict. He was himself as long as he was shooting up. If he didn't, he was a fricking psycho. I didn't even know that he was shooting up until he couldn't find some one night. It changed his personality.
Being a functioning drug addict will not end well for you.
Good luck. Get help if you feel that you need to, which you obviously do or you wouldn't be posting here.
