I certainly feel for this kid who obviously had his dad in his life and lost him no matter the cause.

Looking on the bright side maybe the kid will turn out ok.

That sentence stuck out because I really don't understand the context within the speech.

And yet here you are calling people dumbasses for being upset with the message of this speech, let alone the fact that it was made at the fricking White House.

Yeah of course he wasn't, but you expect his 15 year old son to call him out less than two weeks after his death? That is my point.

Barely. The kid hadn't even seen his dad in nearly a month.

ETA - I feel bad for the kid that his father was a no-account piece of shite. I wouldn't expect the kid to throw his dad under the bus, but most unbiased observers can see that his dad wasn't much of a father.

My father was a good man. That was a sacrifice to show everyone what has been going on in life. And it should give everyone a push that everyone should be together, not against each other.

That sentence doesn't make sense, in context. Saying his father's death was a sacrifice to show everyone what has been going on in life doesn't make sense sandwiched in between that speech.

But apparently, if this kid doesn't publicly blame the community for their own problems and call his dad a POS, he is nothing more than a POS too.

the kid is being used as a pawn

I feel for the kid

Why does he have to say anything at all?

Saying his father's death was a sacrifice doesn't make sense anywhere.

He has been condemned by the OT. I'm not kidding when I suggest that they genuinely want him to frick up along with the rest of his siblings. Nothing would make them happier than to see that GoFundMe money blown on ridiculous shite and the kids all end up in the penal system.

This is so wrong on so many different levels...

#1, that kid has no clue how to use accord.

#2 it doesn't make sense.

No one wants him to. It's just the most likely outcome given his family. But please, continue your good fight.

Pretty sure you can thank that cheesy attorney for the majority of the speech.

This digusts me, Obama can meet with the son of a sex offerer and repeat felon but he can't goto the funerals of our fallen soldiers or LEOs. No offense to the child because losing a father is losing a father no matter what the circumstances. He may have been a shitty citizen but he may have been adored by his family and friends. This country is just so fricked, I love America and I love what we stand for in a world with so much terror but we need to tread carefully these next few elections. All world powers fall eventually I just hope we aren't living through the beginnings of our great country crumbling.

Agreed. I mean I assume he's talking about his father's death when he says sacrifice, because I can't think of anything else he would have meant, but it doesn't make sense.

So if you're keeping track at home:

-15 year old son of Sterling calls his father a good man
-Calls his father's death a sacrifice
-Delivers a message of peace and unity
-Asks all races to come together and stop violence
-Specifically speaks to the protesters and asks that they protest in peace

TPOS, let me tell ya.

Can you link to all the people calling the son a POS? Because I think you've imagined that for the most part.

He doesn't care. As long as he gives himself a talking point. Doesn't matter if anyone actually said it or not.
