Shouldn't make any difference in a pressurized cabin

You're fine. As long as you're at a lower altitude now, then your body is already recovering due the higher oxygen.

Although, I was told that the oxygen concentration inside of a plane is equivalent to around 8000ft elevation.

I had HAPE, high altitude pulmonary edema (fluid in my lungs) the first time I ever went skiing. Had to use supplemental oxygen for last 3 days of the trip.

Been skiing every year since...at lower altitudes

Thanks..i've been at 10,000 elevation for several days so hopefully i will acclimate before the plane ride. Pardon my ignorance on the subject.

How high? 14k? 20k? 25k?

Most planes set their pressure to equivalent of 10k, and most base elevations at airports are less than that. Where are you flying out of?

go to er or urgent care clinic and make sure there are no contraindications to travel.

also, pay out of pocket cash. obama has ruined medical care and they need cash badly.

I went from the Vegas Strip to a little ski resort in an hr. I needed an oxygen tank, altitude sickness is no joke

You should feel much better when you get to the airport, which is ~5k. Pulmonary edema is nothing to play with. If you still feel like you can't breath tell someone. Seriously.

I don't ever remember getting a really bad headache from altitude sickness....it was always kind of a dull headache to me...

you may just be getting the flu or something like that...
