This will make me very unhappy when I travel...

Allowing calls

Airline travelers already upset about shrinking seats and rising fees should steel themselves for a potential new cabin reality: listening to another passenger yakking on a mobile phone.

In a surprising and likely controversial step, U.S. aviation regulators on Thursday suggested they are leaning toward eventually allowing in-flight calls from airline passengers—with two important caveats: airlines will have the option of whether to provide the service, and passengers must be informed well in advance if the flight allows calls.

I'm usually astounded by the moronic phone conversations that people have. I can't wait until I'm a captive audience.

I always tell whomever is sitting next to me "well we have a little time, how about we talk about Jesus?"

Can't wait to talk to Jesus on my phone for everyone to hear.

People are so fricking impressionable. Just a couple of decades ago they actually could get by without being connected every second of every day.

A couple of decades ago you could fire up a Marlboro on a flight too.

Anyone who does moderate air travel and does not own in ear or noise cancelling headphones deserves the inconvenience

this will be worse than crying babies. Listening to some douche talk about how he was totally bombed last night and got laid by his waitress. It will be like democrats trying to talk politics, nothing but lies.

That would suck.

Nobody wants to sit by someone else and hear them blab away on their phone.
Doesn't matter if it's a business or personal call.

Knowing my luck id be sitting by a foreigner speaking a language i don't understand.

If people could speak in a normal speaking voice it would only be annoying. It's the people that turn their speaking voices up three notches that are insufferable. Add in putting the other person on speaker and I'd want to strangle them.

Hearing about this upcoming shiitshow reminds me of the British comedy skit where the obnoxious guy is yelling in public places into the huge oversized brick phone. YouTube Link to Video

I don't think the article mentioned limiting phone use to coach.

And real ballers fly private and do whatever they want

That's right Junior. And it made everyone's church clothes smell like smoke.

Yeah- people actually didn't dress like they were homeless too.

noise cancelling headphones

I have them, they help some but don't do all that good a job of cancelling conversations.
