Allen Edmonds quality has taken a complete shite on itself. Be careful buying their shoes/boots these days. They want to keep their price up and farmed out their production to lowest bidder.

It's tough to explain the value of a quality pair of shoes to the Crocs and PFG crowd.

The same crowd who will drop $400+ on a rod or reel?

I used to think the same thing too but those will last 20+ years and can be resoled several times. They are really cheaper than the $99 Dillards specials if you wear dress shoes for work every day. I don't anymore but I used to.

Rockport is also having a site wide sale on everything. Their quality has also slipped but still make good comfortable dress shoes.

I have the McCallisters. Great shoes, but damn inflation! I didn’t pay that two years ago. Wow.

I’m sure there is some merit to that. But paying $500 for a glorified pair of Doc Martens seems pretty silly on the surface. But you do you, Scotty P.

Some nice shite kickers in three shades of brown. Last forever if you take care of them.

I’ve paid $200+ for shoes twice in my life. For my ostrich skin boots and for my most recent pair of golf shoes.

I don’t get excited about an overpriced pair of dress shoes.

I wear boat shoes a lot. I used to go through a pair of Sperrys about once per year at $100/pair. I decided to try a pair of AE boat shoes. $200 or so and they are like 8 years old now and haven't even been resoled yet. You can get a much better quality product in that price range.
