I keep hearing a tale about a witch's grave up in Zachary, Alice Penny Taylor. People seem to know of it, but the best I ever hear of a location is just "in one of the graveyard's near Zachary." Anybody here from up that way and know where in particular to look?

You’re right. Let’s bring her back from the dead.

In Spearman, TX when you pass through there with a full moon the reflections from headlights and other at the cemetery provide some really creepy shadows and ghostly looking images.

Try Findagrave. It’s a pretty good resource.

They ended up covering it with concrete to keep kids from digging her up.

I don't know anybody who's gone to look for her. And I grew up in Zachary

ETA: Derrick Todd Lee attacked a teenage couple who were making out near it with a machete.

It’s near some old row of magnolia’s. Nearly forgotten spot. From what an old guy who is now long dead told me in 2003

This is how an X-file episode always starts. Just FYI, you’ve been warned.

LINK everything you want to know. The saddest thing is her grave has been disturbed several times. She was just a young woman who died before the Civil War, probably of yellow fever. Assholes made up the witch legends decades later to amuse themselves.

Legend as it was told at one time is that she had bars over her grave and when last one removed she would come back to haunt you.
