What are the OT's thoughts on age gaps in relationships? Do you think twice about a early 20's dating an early 30s? Or what about an 18 year old dating a late 20 year old? I think post 25 years of age, the age gaps no matter the amount have less gripes because for the most part its two adults who likely have their own financial credit to their name etc.

Do you think its casual to have a mid 30s guy date an early 20s?

ETA: Can't say half your age + 7.

This is not related to that. I think those kids might be high school kids. I see young and older do it. It's annoying and has its inconveniences to others unfortunately.

I dated a 18 year old for a while when I was 22. I honestly think I made it a bigger deal than it was.

I'm 32 and won't date anyone who can't get into a bar... I think that's the cut-off for me.

The wider the gap, the more of a trainwreck from what I've seen. Anything over about 5 years is just a disaster waiting to happen, especially if the girl is early 20's.

The older I get, the more I realize thats nothing. The only issue would be at that exact period of life. I could absolutely date anyone 18 over, but why invest in a relationship with a person who still has a lot of self-discovery left in their life? I am almost certain I'd want to date college capable girls, so college would still be a big time for life development that might not only change my view of them, but also their view of me.

But there are plenty of same-age trainwrecks lol. Since most relationships are of similar age, then wouldnt every dating stat reflect that level of disaster?

Like i said, after 25, there's far more independence involved, and people are more in tune with their self-image. Can they still have a lot left to grow at that age? Sure. I'd say its less likely to drastically alter their worldviews though.

Age is just a number. Depends on the maturity level of the individual.

he is always wondering why he can't meet a nice girl. I am like try someone near your own age, but he is like they have saggy tits.
