Eh, my uncle was in a semi- vegetative state for 20+ years.

He could watch tv and you could tell he was listening. I'm sure he got some enjoyment over watching his family grow up/spending time with him.

Yep but a lot of them were probably influenced by constant medical procedures like catheter changes and who knows what else.
