Advocate Article on Transgender getting a LA DL

This transgender chick went dressed up as a girl (obviously) to get a new DL pic and was refused because her license will say she is male.
Transgender advocate had this to say: "“A lot of trans people feel like they were misrepresenting themselves before transition. So there’s no misrepresentation or attempts to misguide when trans people are just trying to get a picture that accurately reflects their identification.”
However, the transgender in question didn't want to change her sex marker to "F" from "M".
If that isn't misrepresentation then I'm not real sure what is.
Simple solution here add a "U" to the valid choices for the marker and be done with it. I could really care less what people "identify" as but put the picture of you as a chick then having the sex marker marked as "M" is stupid in my view.

I saw this on my FB the other day. Personally, I think it's BS. What if a female with short hair walked in with no makeup (looked like a dude)...would they make them put on a wig and makeup??? NOPE.

I saw this yesterday and it is ridiculous.
A male walks in that identifies as a female and tries to get license with male on it. Gets denied because of long hair, make up and a dress. Laws are fun and the people working at the dmv are dumber.

First time I heard that was from my dad when I was a freshman at LSU....he came in for a game one weekend and we were sitting on the bench in the Pentagon in front of my dorm the morning before the game drinking a beer and having a smoke.
He sees a girl walk out of the section next to mine (co-ed dorm) and asks if I know her. She was not attractive so I just looked at him like he was crazy....he said "Good" followed by that line. I spit my beer out and about fell off the table laughing

Alot of my friends on facebook were blowing up my newsfeed about her/his story. It was pretty much all I saw on facebook yesterday.

I don't believe that was the point that the OMV Commissioner was making. This person had previously obtained a driver's license as a male and was now trying to get one as a female. A doctor's order showing a gender reassignment is required. Why is that hard for people to understand?

Well according to alot of my friends on facebook who think they're lawyers believe that getting a doctor's notice is ridiculous. It seemed like everyone yesterday knew who this girl/guy was. It's time for me to start reevaluate who my friends are.

First of all, if a women walked in with a buzz cut, no makeup, and wearing a flannel shirt and jeans, do you think they should force her to put on makeup and a dress to take her picture? If not, then your misrepresentation statement is obviously non-sense or at least completely one sided.
Secondly, it's not like they offered her the option to quickly and easily change the identifier from M to F. She would have to undergo reassignment surgery and provide proof from a doctor. I know the article states that she "didn't want to change the marker", but for all you know, maybe she doesn't want or can't afford reassignment surgery and just doesn't care what letter appears on her license. If they had offered her the opportunity to change the letter, then maybe you'd have point, but if you actually take 5 minutes to read the article, you'd see that's not the case.
