Advice on travel to Turks and Caicos

Hello OT. Can anyone offer info on this island, places to stay, things to do for a week's stay?

Thanks.

It's the best vacation spot I have ever been. We stayed at the sands which was nice a not very expensive. There is a nicer resort next to the Sands I will stay at next time.

re: Advice on travel to Turks and Caicos
these islands are pretty quiet, definitely not a party destination. Id rent a villa on the beach instead of doing a resort.

scuba diving and snorkeling is fun. also check out all of the other beaches instead of just grace bay beach. all of them were empty when I went. There are no private beaches on the island, all are open to the public. the water is so beautiful there.

I didnt have a chance to check out any of the other islands, so I am sure there is some cool stuff to see on those others.

I should've also asked if anyone had been there in November, or what time of year is best?

I will be there from Thursday until next Tuesday. We are taking the ferry to North Caicos on saturday, renting car a driving to Middle Caicos for a day trip to Bambarra Beach. It's listed as possibly the most beautiful beach in the world. If the tide is right you can walk out a quarter mile in ankle deep water.

I'll do a follow up post while I'm there.

If you like to bonefish, or watch the beach and the surf,...nothing else, there's your place. Look out for Dick Clark, or his ghost, he's a party animal.

re: Advice on travel to Turks and Caicos
I've been here since Thursday. The restaurants are excellent. Hemingways has been the worst meal we've had and it was good but not up to the standards of the other places we've eaten.

Yesterday we took the ferry to North Caicos and the rented a car and went to Middle Caicos. We went to Bambarra Beach and it was a bit disappointing as we were there at high tide. No ankle deep water a quarter mile out because of the tide.

We then went to Daniels Cafe and had a great meal before heading over to Mudjin Harbor. Oh My God. The most beautiful beach I have ever seen and I've been all over the Caribbean and to the South Pacific islands.

I would not call this a family destination. It's for couples and it's for couples with disposable income. Everything is expensive but the restaurants are great and the service, resorts and beaches are second to none.

re: Advice on travel to Turks and Caicos
Wife and I are looking for a vacation spot thinking about Turks. Would you go back, where did you stay?

Kind of clueless where to go, have miles to go pretty much anywhere but only have about 6 days including travel so we were thinking carribean.

Not looking at mexico/jamaica/Domincan Rep right now.. been too many times.

Thinking also about St. John, st.thomas and the grand caymen.
