We have to report Accident Prevention Techniques at work and I get notifications every time one is entered. This is one from yesterday:

quote:

While on my commute to a facility, I stopped at a 7-11 convenience store. When exiting the store, I heard the cock-a-doodle-do of a rooster. Confused, I assumed the rooster was in the bed of one of the trucks in the parking lot. However, as I approached the driver's side of my rental car, I saw that the rooster was blocking my path to the car. The rooster began to approach me and I slowly backed away. The rooster increased his speed walking towards me, so I moved such that I was on the opposite side of the car; this forced the rooster to continue following my path, but allowed me enough distance between us to safely enter the car.
I failed to recognize the potential hazards of staying in a more rural location during this business trip (which I had never stayed at prior), but quick thinking to put an object--the car--between myself and the hazard allowed me to escape without suffering the wrath of a rooster's talons or beak.

Normally I would think this is a great troll and someone making fun of the system, but this individual is within the HSE group and making fun of the system is ultimately making fun of your boss who owns this process.

About the only time where it's a good thing to get cock-blocked.

Several months ago, my boss sent an email thread from one of our CO offices on how to properly set a mousetrap or glue trap. They were (jokingly) setting up tailgate meetings in the office to discuss the task and review the 4 different JSA's they had prepared for the event.
