Fact. The first versions of this airframe had a crosshairs PAINTED on the pilots window. He just put the plane in a circular bank until the crosshairs was on the target and they went to pound town.

Now there are a handful of computer operators in the back and a gazillion computers running things.

Is it a bomb? Or like a bullet? It looks like a bullet and is fired like a bullet and explodes like a bomb?

GT, I've always wondered if the bad guys can't hear the C-130 flying overhead and that's why they seem so nonchalant walking around (until the first round hits, of course). Is the plane so high it is impossible to hear it or does it have some type of engine suppressors muffling the sound?

Yes you can hear it if you are looking for it. Its a faint buzz

This is to not offend by calling them "attack" helicopters - plus it also includes their scouts, armed Blackhawks and Army drones, now (unless I'm mistaken).

Good times...good times (all I do is talk now).

I assume you meant faint buzz. So why don't the targets take cover as soon as they hear the faint buzz overhead? Are they just that stupid to keep walking along so nonchalantly?

Yeah, this was back in 04. I don't know the exact model they were using then. It was during the battle of Fallujah so they were just circling overhead all night begging for targets.

My boy said when he was in Iraq the chick was talking to the JTAC telling him we are your air support the next few hours. Asked him if they wanted to hear tunes over the mic and he said everytime the JTAC mic'd up you could hear let the bodies hit the floor in the background playing in the aircraft.

Hey OP. For future reference. The spelling you are looking for is Haji or Hajji and Achmed.

We need a 10 digit coordinate for that. Lat/Longs is too broad

Sanctioned murder...might as well have fun.

Then you come home...get ticketed for not wearing your seatbelt. That's gotta be fricked up

B/c its usually to late. When I was at Hurby we didn't even hear the gun ships on the range until they had fired. Then you would pick up on the engine noise. That and once you have heard C-130's take off day after day you tend to notice.

You have no idea the amount of truth to this. The difference between now and WWII is guys were weeks getting home. Now soldiers are literally in battle one day and then home for the weekend. Weird transition.

Had a buddy wake up in Bossier City, go to base and fly to Iraq for his first bombing run of the invasion non-stop. "Bye Honey, I gotta go to war."
