Absolute closest MG parade to BR on Fat Tuesday

I'm kind of non-Mardi Gras enthusiast nowadays. We used to do Endymion, Bacchus, and a lot of the other majors in NO. After awhile, I kinda got over it and would just stay in town and do Southdowns and Spanish Town and that was good enough for me. Then we had kids and really just do St. Pats every year to fill our yearly parade intake. Last night my 3 year old asked out of the blue if we could go to one more and I told him we'd try. So now I'm trying to figure out the absolute closest one to Baton Rouge tomorrow so we can at least go to for a bit.
Not really wanting to sit in ungodly amounts of traffic in New Orleans, I was kinda thinking Lafayette or maybe even Breaux Bridge or something, but is there anything closer than that?

New roads. Family type of parade. Had some good times in years past.

How is the traffic for the New Roads parade since they opened the Audubon Bridge? The last time I went was when they only had the ferry running. Parade was good, but traffic was HORRIBLE trying to get back to Hwy 190 (ferry line was ridiculous so we didn't even try that).
Also, which New Roads parade is better?

covington has a a family friendly parade in the morning.
quote:
Covington Lions Club, Covington – 10am
The Covington Lions Club has brought the celebration of Mardi Gras to downtown Covington since 1959. Follows the same route as the Krewe of Olympia.
Mystic Krewe of Covington – follows Lions
Founded in 1951 by the Knights of Columbus, this krewe was once called the “Krewe of KaaCee.”

Head down to Mamou. The parade of horseback riders comes in around 3.

Wife's extended family has a camp on false river. Does the new roads parade run anywhere near there?

Traffics not bad since the bridge is open. The lions club parade is the best.

It runs partially down the main drag in downtown new roads.

Depends on where your camp is. Mine is a good 15 minute drive from New Roads, but we used to do this parade then stop at our camp to let traffic die down. Some camps are within walking distance though

From 2013, but should be the same route.
Don't blame me for the rotated picture. Thank New Roads.

your camp better be close to town to use it for the parade.

Did New Roads move their parade because the forecast was supposed to be bad for Tuesday?
I know Plaquemine did, but I did not see any coverage on the news showing the New Roads parade. Bundle up for tomorrow!
