I just read through this entire thread....I was born in 81'...and have always thought I was Gen X until just recently when somebody said I was a millennial.....and frick that....I agree with many on here in that I do not identify with the millennial generation at all...

...I vividly remember Challenger blowing up, the Berlin Wall coming down, and 9-11. Most millennials only know of those things from learning about them in history class or through Googling shite and reading Wikipedia...

on social stuff, music, etc....I don't really jive with my little brothers (born 89 and 91) at all ...they grew up differently than I did and their musical tastes are totally different than mine

as many have mentioned...I talked on a phone that had a 15 foot cord on it and was in the kitchen...I used my stereo to make recordings on cassette tapes from tunes I enjoyed on FM radio...I wrote and received letters in the mail...I had hyper color shirts and tight rolled my jeans...

in MS I was into grunge...in the early nineties I watched MTV religiously...FOR THE MUSIC VIDEOS...I collected baseball cards and cut out all the Braves newspaper ads and stuck them on he walls of my room in 1991...I remember the 96' Olympics and the Centennial Olympic Park bombing...we rode bikes and raked leaves and had pine cone fights and built forts in the woods...

the OJ trial!!

I got my first cellphone in 2001 when I was 20..and to the questionnaire above

Burt Reynolds was the man and Sally Field was sexy as hell...

the first rock and roll I listened to and got hooked on was on...vinyl!! I used to listen to my Dad's records...Boston, ELO, The Eagles, Skynyrd, Fleetwood Mac, the Grateful Dead, Foreigner...

I learned guitar on the front porch with my war baby aged grandfather and his buddies playing bluegrass...

I rode the bus with HS kids who had Metallica written on the back of their denim jackets in sharpie marker

SO...I really don't think I am a millennial at all...81 is GEN X..even if its on the tail end..
