You cannot count Texas out. There’s no other state in our union that could handle this hurricane. New York has taken its lumps. New Orleans knows what loss feels like, but this is a monster named Harvey that we’ve never seen before. Who better to challenge Harvey head-on than Texas? They’ll do it wearing an Astros cap and with a twisted smile, daring that water to take a piece of the land they love so much.

Agreed ... and I'm from Texas.

This is America. We are the greatest nation to ever exist.

We build, rebuild, repair, etc. whatever is necessary and have the resources to do it.

We even to the same for other countries.

They have no idea what the magnitude was of other disasters where Americans mourned, cried, and then with silent determination set to work making it better than before.

I find these types of articles extremely tiresome.

Humans are resilient everywhere. Texas needed help from elsewhere, just like any state would in this type of emergency.

Taking time to puff up during these times doesn't do much good.
