She was his teacher. Age of consent doesn't matter. Many states have laws in the books against this for high school teachers.

whats unethical? If im a scholar in a particular subject and i find someone where we have mutual attraction to each other.... Why is it unethical to act on that attraction?

If the subordinate works/is a student for the professor, that's the issue. The subordinate may feel pressure to sleep with the prof in fear of not receiving the grade he/she wants.
