OTers....

So I know it's the hottest time of the year, and most A/C's are working hard. I have 2 units in my house. 1 cooling 1800 sq feet and another in my newer addition cooling 680 sq feet. The one that cools the smaller space is ice cold. The other unit is struggling and seems to never be able to cool the other section off.

Anything that can be done? Charge it up with some freon?

yep, you should just get the freon checked...90% of the time it is just a slow leak and the resulting lack of cooling doesn't show itself until the hottest days of the year....

fwiw, be sure you have changed filter and cleaned the outside coils before you call someone or they'll charge you for that too...

Had the same problem except mine wasn't a slow leak. They filled it with coolant on Monday and by Wednesday the coolant was gone. Ended up having to replace the whole unit and go bent over price wise in the process. Good luck and hope your situation is better than mine was.
