I'm a PI and recently witnessed a man charged with a crime get convicted of a serious crime. I spoke with approximately 25 witnesses of said incident and they all stated that the defendant was innocent of charges but they all also refused to testify on his behalf or what they witnessed. The defendant was sentenced to 30 years for a crime, I, along with the large amount of witnesses (who refuse to cooperate) believe he is innocent of. Today, I spoke with several of his "brothers" (who all refused to testify about said incident) and they all talk about how wrong the justice system is and how sad/ mad they are and how they have information/ know who did the crime. My question is how does anyone let someone else, especially someone you call a friend or "brother" not only take a charge you know he is innocent of, but refuse to assist in his defense. If these people testify, I fully believe their "brother" is home within a short amount of time. Now, after sentencing, they want to run forward, throw a name, and dart back into the darkness. The same bunch are the ones that constantly talk about BLM and how wrong they are treated in the judicial system. How can you advocate for one and sit back on the other?

They don't trust the police and refuse to co operate with them on anything. Can't really blame them either.

I'm not the police. This case was very "winnable" but needed witnesses to come forward to beat the charges. None of the "brothers" of his affiliation, friends, or family showed up and now they are talking about how wrong everyone is for this. I believe the jury got the verdict wrong but they could only assess the information in front of them. I don't blame the jury for their decision but I'm struggling how everyone in the community can sit back and allow, what they say is an innocent man, go to prison because they are scared to step forward and say what they witnessed. They aren't and weren't scared of the police, they were scared to take the stand and testify in front of 50 people.

We don't talk to police on my block.

Then I sure as hell hope you aren't one of the ones in public, on social media, or the news bitching and moaning about an innocent man/ woman going to prison. This man could be home with his family if the community came forward with all the information they know, but they refuse to come forward.

You are a PI? What is your background that qualifies you to opine on the investigation and legal proceedings? Do you write investigative reports in the same manner as your post? If so, you need to rethink your profession.

What a bizarre narrative. If you have spoken to 25 witnesses, how on earth is there no witness statement to refute any evidence a DA would have to go forth with charges?

Because they don't want the real perpetrators to cone after them and they know the police won't protect them. Also, many have outstanding bench warrants or unpaid tickets, so they're afraid that by going into court to testify, they'll be arrested.

Crab mentality.
Ever seen crabs try to crawl out of a bucket? Other crabs pinch his arms and legs off. Worse than zero sum game. Marxist nihilistic victory for Satan and those involved have no clue what they do.

I guess that's the mentality but I'm still kinda stunned. A guy who helped so many went through a trial this week and none of his family or friends showed up for support or to help aide in his defense. He learned some hard lessons this week. 12 strangers determined his fate and his friends/ family are talking in the shadows about how flawed the judicial system is but were too sorry/ scared to come forward and speak about what really happened.

Maybe they like being alive.

Or maybe the accused has such a past that even when innocent of this one, everyone is allowing him to pay for said past.

Do you have a fake badge you flash before you ask someone a question?

You seem to be forgetting Master P enlightenment in the seminal New Orleans instructional rap saga "Ghetto D," educating young soldiers coming up in the game how to act right in the hood:
...1. Never talk on the phone in ya house 2. Never slang dope out ya baby momma's house 3. Never frick with snitches 'Cause n***** that talk to the police is bitches 4. Keep a low key. And if you moving weight, treat yourself to an Uzi...

Don't snitch. Even if you witness a child get murdered you don't talk to the police. Prob because they have warrants too.
