My GF went there. It was so competitive, she took a year off to rest up before going to college.

taken off my kids school website. my kids were already enrolled when the school was recognized. there really wasn't any tuition increase or extra demand to get in.

The Blue Ribbon Schools Program seeks to identify truly exemplary model schools, not just good schools or strong schools. The program honors public and private elementary, middle and high schools that qualify as either (1) Exemplary High Performing- in the tested year all grades must be among the top 15 percent of scores in reading and math as measured by a nationally normed test or (2) Exemplary Improvement to High Levels- schools that have at least 40 percent of their students from disadvantaged backgrounds and have demonstrated dramatic gains in reading and math.

Trolling alert!

If she really went there and graduated, she would never consider doing this. Everyone who graduated knew college would be a cake walk and you'd start as a sophomore with your AP credit at any public university.

They must deduct points for Jesuit's overly generous 10 point grading scale.

Three other public schools received a Blue Ribbon for closing their achievement gap, especially for disadvantaged and non-white students. They are:

Martin Petitjean Elementary, Rayne
Pointe-aux-Chenes Elementary, Montegut
South Crowley Elementary, Crowley

talk about bottom of the barrel

non-whites in Montegut are called coonasses
