Unless you're having five practices, two weekday games, and a tourney a weekend for 40 weekends a year, I'm gonna look elsewhere.

Yes please. I am looking for a good way to spend my extra money and weekends. Fishing and hunting and enjoying my free time just aren't my bag.

How much will it cost?

How much travel is involved? I have to be on the road at least 5 months a year to feel like my kid has a shot at the pros.

WOW, You people are something. We not talking about traveling the country. The next level of baseball as in a step above rec ball.

What makes travel ball better than rec? Pros? Cons?

Funny thing is I don't ever hear anyone talking shite about select soccer, club swimming, select basketball, etc. It's always baseball people are dogging. The sports I mentioned before are way way more intense and hardcore than select/travel baseball. They legitimately go year round and practice and play much more than baseball. At least here around the Houston area that's the case. And yes, I am an 8u select baseball coach and we haven't stepped on a field since June 14 and all of our parents and other coaches firmly believe in the kids playing multiple sports and not playing baseball year round. I think there Are some misnomers out there. Yes, some teams are like people describe, but the vast majority of baseball teams are not at all like people think. I mean select soccer is insane. They start having tryouts at 6 and the kids have to tryout every year. The kids get about a month off before it cranks up again season to season.

ETA: I am aware the OP may be trolling and most of the responses are playing along and sarcastic.

Pros: better competition, usually finished by June (some rec. all stars go until August)

Cons: cost
