Pretty messed up considering the past 20 pages of this forum are about a pain, suffering, and loss during a natural disaster in BR.

It is crazy there is that much damage from "only" a 6.2. I know the buildings there are thousands of years old which is why they crumbled but you would think they would have had a few earthquakes stronger than that since they have been built. Either way I feel for those people, earthquakes are the scariest things ever even when there is no major damage, to deal with one and lose all of your stuff would be the worst.

Perhaps repeated quakes finally took their toll?

The quake hit just after 3:30am. I'd expect the death toll to climb throughout the day, lots of people are trapped from what I'm reading.
Hope the loss is minimal.

I'm traveling over to Italy today for my brothers wedding. We are going to be a further south in Maratea so I don't believe this one had any effect that far south. We are flying through Rome and Naples though. Praying for those people that lost everything

Death toll at 50 and climbing in a town of 2000. Perhaps we can hold off on the jokes for a little while.

I'm not joking about a natural disaster in one of the greatest areas of the world - I love Italy. I'm making a crack about the fact that when we see a headline "50 dead in _______" (western European city) we all automatically think it was caused by something else. It was a crack on a religion, not intended to make light of Italy. Probably not the right place or time and I regret if it was taken that way.

No. You're just making a joke because you're an insensitive prick. You should wait until the flood waters to recede before joking about someone else's natural disaster.

Colorado even had an earthquake last night. Luckily, it was only a 3.2.
