'Will you help me find my mommy?' Edmond children left at wrong stop ask for help in video

An Edmond couple's experience has gone viral after a doorbell camera video showed their two 5-year-olds wandering a neighborhood for an hour after they were dropped off at the wrong stop this week.

In a viral TikTok video, Kelly Mulholland said her son and her boyfriend Jonathan Vanderlois' daughter were supposed to get off at a bus stop together Monday afternoon.

The bus showed up at the stop at Napa Valley Road and Bristol Park Boulevard an hour late and without the children.

"My literal worst nightmare happened," she said in the video posted Tuesday in two parts.

She asked the driver where the kindergarteners were dropped off, and when the driver didn't recall, she said in the video, another child on the bus told her they'd gotten off at the previous stop.

Mulholland looked around at the previous location while Vanderlois headed to the children's school, Charles Haskell Elementary.

Eventually, a neighbor drove up to Mulholland and asked if she was searching for two kids. Mulholland said in the video that the neighbor's Ring doorbell responded to the children knocking on his door.

The viral video Mulholland posted includes a clip of her son crying and asking, "Will you help me find my mommy?"

Mulholland and a group of neighbors began knocking on doors around the area, she said in the video, and eventually found the children a few houses down from where the Ring doorbell picked them up.

Good start to Kindergarten.

Protocol here where my kids go to school is the bus driver confirms each kids stop off a list and they also have a backpack tag for the first week of school. Sounds like a big frick up by the bus driver.

Kids are so dumb these days. I knew how to get to my house as a 5 year old from any starting spot in town.

One thing you that was tough to realize you but you learn as a parent is that some things that you don't think are a very big deal, these things are like terrible experiences in the minds of little ones.

Just speaking in general, things like sleeping in their own room when moving into a new house. That can be a struggle and frustrating as shite, but it's a legit miserable experience for them and it's hard to reconcile that.

This one was actually a big deal, so I imagine this kid was in a real rough spot in his mind.

Someone gotta die. I would lose all self control if something like that happened to my child.

When you were 5, all the houses on one street didn't look identical.
New neighborhoods may have several streets of houses that look like olde Levittowns in their lack of imagination.

I'd guess that the kids looked out,, said "we're here" and ran off the bus. Only to find they weren't at the expected "here".

- The underlying story itself is bad, poor kid

- The tik tok selfie video from the mom saying "ugh! my literal worst nightmare happened yesterday..." makes it even worse

I wonder who is more scared in this situation, the child or the mom.

Exactly this. Also, the kid may have known his address but would he automatically know what to do in a stressful situation like that? First day of kindergarten, gets off the bus, doesn't see his parents, who knows if there were other people around. Poor kid

I saw a story from Bossier about a 5 year old that was dropped off on Airline Dr. 45 minutes earlier than their scheduled dropoff in 107 degree heat. Thankfully, she knew her way home from there, but I can't imagine my emotions if that had been my kid.

I feel sorry for the child but the mother was annoying af.

She made the story all about her.

wanna bet?

they will come out with "the school is investigating and driver will be disciplined accordingly" then everyone will do nothing and take no action and the driver wont even get a note about it in his work file.

Didn't think buses could drop off kids that young without an adult present

That’s awful but heaven forbid something like that happens and people not run to post it for the world to see. I don’t give a damn the situation, I don’t want my kids on a viral video. Take the video to the school or school board is sufficient enough
