I bet it's safe to assume the victim wasn't going to or coming back from swimming practice

Andre Wright, 25, died from his injuries

While the community and political leaders, along with the media, continue to focus their attention and efforts on Alton Sterling, yet another black male has been gunned down in the streets of Baton Rouge. And not a single one of them will remember his name come tomorrow.

So keep ignoring the true problem out there and keep going for that low hanging fruit that is police reform. I can promise you, you can reform police all you want, it will not stop the Andre Wright's from being murdered in this city.

We need to drop a moab on Gardere and rebuild. It's actually in a pretty nice area otherwise

Actually, it is a little. Murders in Gardere have been on a steep decline over the last few years.

Looking at his FB page he seemed like a good person to me of course you never know. Probably in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It's a low-lying flood prone area of former cane fields now occupied by cheaply built section 8 housing designed for college students situated around a massive stinking sewage plant. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

I think he use to play football for East Iberville, not that that's anything special, but this isn't news. It's the norm.

Low rent costs and increased Police pressure just moves the problem. Mall city moved to Gardere. Gardere has moved to tiger land.
