re: 2 of my coworkers just got into it because of a ferguson missouri debate....

About 15 years ago I was having an intelligent discussion with a co worker about a socio-economic, mildly political issue while we worked together on a project at a client site. After the project ended about 2 months later, I was called into the partner's office with the firm's HR woman in there. They said that my co-worker (from another office out of state) sent an email claiming I had made hurtful and inflammatory remarks toward certain socio-economic/ethic groups while working with her. Never in this discussion did we argue or become angry. It sincerely was a thought provoking discussion with me asking more questions than making statements.

From that point on I vowed to NEVER discuss political/social/hot button topics with any coworkers ever again.
