The kid is no more guilty than the cat. Neither of them can comprehend the consequences of their actions.

Just being around kids and cats over the years I'll bet what's happened here is these folks had the cat before the kid came along and now the kid is old enough to want to play with the cat but is too rough with with the cat (like 99% of all toddlers) and now the cat is afraid of the kid and attacks anytime the kid gets too close. The kid in turn does not understand why the cat is being "mean" when all they want to do is play and retaliates in kind.

I didn't like the kid slapping the cat and the cat jumping the kids face and the lioness was petrifying. The rest were mostly borderline

Yeah...............bottom line, it's an animal, and if it hits my kid, it better have a damn good reason.

Well the cat cannot understand that the kid just wants to play any more than the kid can understand why the cat hates him.

Bottom line, cats and toddlers (even preschoolers really) usually do not mix.

The kid bitch slapped the cat and was winding up to hit him again. It did look like the kid was already crying so maybe this is round 2 and like another poster said, the parents are the ones to blame for letting it happen just so they could post it to the internet.

Bingo. For the kid's sake I hope the cat was dewclawed... Course that still leaves the teeth. As for the cat, no way a toddler slapping it can hurt it in any way.

I have laughed at basically all of them but then thought, if that happened to my future kid, those animals would be dead 5 seconds later.

Yup it's all fun and games until it happens to your kids.
