Traffic BR Cluster
BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A wreck involving two 18-wheelers caused I-110 S to be shut down for some time Wednesday evening.

Officials with the Baton Rouge Police Department say some cargo began to fall out of one 18-wheeler, causing the 18-wheeler behind it to swerve to avoid hitting the cargo. When that 18-wheeler swerved, the lumber it was carrying began to fall off the trailer.

Crews are now working to pick up the spilled lumber.

BRPD says they hope to have the interstate fully reopened by about 9:30 p.m. At this time, I-110 S at I-10/I-110 is down to one lane with cars passing.

Crews have also shut down I-10 W as they work to clean up the lumber. Traffic on I-10 W will be diverted onto I-110 N. Those needing to go over the bridge will have to get back on I-110 S and loop around.

Good ole BR..

Update: A third 18 wheeler attempting to retrieve some of the lost logs collided with a column supporting an I-10 overpass. The Mississippi River bridge will be shut down indefinitely while DOTD evaluates the damage.

One lane of I-110S will remain closed while state police commission a study to determine the best way to remove the final pieces of lumber.

One lane of I-10E at the 10/12 split will also remain closed for the foreseeable future, because frick you.

They shouldn’t be allowed to travel over 50 mph in BR.
Right lane only.

Update: Two crane barges ran into each colliding with the Old Bridge and a plane just crash landed on Airline. Louisiana temporarily moves Capitol to Bunkie.

Meanwhile Mayor SWB ask the metro council for $350k to study how to clean up the wood that fell from the lumber truck.

Would it be a conspiracy to think someone set up the dump truck hitting the LA 1 bridge and then accidents like this one to get a bridge tax easily passed?
