13 year old. WOW.. didn’t know she was pregnant, which obviously means she was that overweight to begin with. WOW, WOW!

Man, our society is crumbling.

this child probably had unattentive parents. hopefully it wasnt a relative that assaulted or raped her.

shes 13 so its certainly possible that she was sexually assaulted. its possible this young girl wasnt able to cope (cant really blame her) and not able to rationalize that she was pregnant for a period of time.

at least she attempted to try to do the right thing.

Obese cafeteria worker at hospital I worked at years ago had this happen. Told us she went to hospital for stomach pains and she was in labor. You would think she's realize she hadn't had a period in many months but nah..... Also, the cherry on top of the story - when they admitted her to the maternity unit she saw her mother there for the SAME REASON. True story I swear. (She said "I told my momma you too old for all that foolishness")

Exact scenario I pictured when I first heard the story. Or she was sexually active but didn't want her parents to find out. Either way, she was obviously scared and did the best she could at the time. I feel sorry for her actually.

That has to be the best way to experience pregnancy. No morning sickness or waiting impatiently. Just voila! New baby.

Joking aside, I feel so badly for this girl. I can’t imagine how scared she must have been. I would feel like the world’s biggest failure as a parent if my 13 year old got pregnant, let alone that I didn’t even notice.

Teen pregnancy rates have plummeted though...

Our society crumbling is not a singular issue. I really wish it were just teen pregnancy.

Additionally, those numbers are only live births, and do not account for abortions post Roe v Wade which account for some 750k, and do not include this 13 year old as it only tracks 15-19 year olds.

Fair enough. I'm just pointing out that teen pregnancy is a bad example of society crumbling.

It’s not, unless it’s just births you’re talking about when being put off at teen pregnancy.

Every mammal can cry out in pain...dogs Yelp, pigs squeal, monkeys screech.....but ONLY one mammal screams during birth. I guess our evolution/natural selection was soooo much different.

You're an idiot. It's been well established that human babies are vastly different at birth due to our large noggins. Other differences are that it takes humans years to learn to walk and feed themselves which other mammals learn in days or weeks. It's the price we pay for being so smart compared to other mammals, though there are exceptions such as yourself to dispute it.

I've seen very thin pregnant women with barely a baby bump. They probably think they are chronically constipated.

Sorry but that's the best decision a 13-year old mother can make.
