I'm the same right now. The amount of incompetence with these people is ridiculous.

Honestly, I'm FAR more concerned with being injured or killed by someone overreacting to the threat of Ebola than actually catching Ebola.

The federal government and the companies who work for them are always incompetent. It reallys comes out into the spotlight when something unusual happens that makes them have to think or act quickly and people are watching.

For all of you who have no worries, you may want to go do some research on virus mutation. This thing can turn in no time and completely frick shite up. If the projections of new cases in Africa are correct coupled with the traveling of the virus that has already happening and will not only continue to happen but at an increasing rate. You are taking about a perfect situation of a mutation to occur. Different environment, different host with different levels of health and antibodies. This administration is beyond incompetent, closer to the lines dangerous. The next month or so will be very interesting.

2 people out of 318 million. I'm sorry, but I'm much more concerned about car crashes, plane crashes, the flu, HIV, choking, serial killers, rapists, and basically everything I can think of more than Ebola. The chances of me getting Ebola are basically zero. You idiots need to stop freaking out and listening to the media who have been grossly irresponsible and haven't minded making the stock market tank in the name of ratings. You saps need to stop falling for this.

My level was as 0 out of 100 last week.

This week it's actually at a 2 out of 100. Mainly due to the incompetence of our government to control this if it were to escalate.

So quick question...will my worrying alter that? Will my hanging on every tidbit of info and misinformation change the course of events in any tangible way?

If so, I'm on board the Worry Train. otherwise, I don;t see the point really.

No and I am not saying that, hasnt changed anything I do but just saying it is diff a possibility. Ask any scientist about it, they will not only say that we are way over due for a global pandemic.

Agreed...no doubt.

But your suggestion was that those of us that are not actively worrying would be if we knew more. I'm saying that is not the case...at least for me.

I'm not worried for the same reason I'm not actively worried about an asteroid impact or a super volcano erupting out west...and both of those are most certainly going to happen at some point down the road. Namely, because my worrying about it will have exactly zero impact on the events.

Now...I'm using this situation as a learning opportunity for my sons. Quit touching fricking everything when we are in public...wash your hands regularly...get you damn hands out of your mouth, etc. But me sitting around wringing my hands just doesn't seem like a worthwhile use of my time.

I'm not worried about contracting it. I am worried that it will not be contained.

That, and the ebola zombies. Those are partuclarly tough to put down and they also spread the now apocalyptic ebola virus even if they don't bite or scratch you. We are definitely f***ed now.
