He was on the practice squad all of 2023. Not sure he has all of a sudden secured a roster spot.

This is a good move. Horvath fits the mold of the Shanahan offense FBs more than Prentice does by being leaner and more athletic. Horvath is 6'3 230lbs and ran a 4.6 Forty coming out of college. Prentice is 6'0 245lbs and ran a high 4.8 for his pro day, making him more of an old school blocking FB that many teams have gotten away from.
Prentice would fit in more with the Broncos, Chargers, or Ravens with his skill set.

For sure! And Zander Horvath was also capable as a Bell Cow back at Purdue at times! 1,200 career rushing yards.

I can't find Prentice on the official Saints roster? Don't remember him being cut.
