Man, I could be one hell of a GM if I used hindsight like you guys.

He’s not a franchise QB, but for where we are, he’s a fighter and would have gotten this team into the playoffs. Now, he’s balling and doing his thing.

Wouldn’t have mattered. We have now seen multiple QBs fail under the current coaching staff.

They were comparable QBs, but the cost was not comparable. Carr is infinitely more expensive, which affects the rest of your roster.

And, I remember thinking at the time, why don’t we just get Mayfield and save the money and not hamstring us further?

It’s not hindsight. It’s just common sense.

Cool, bump the thread where you called for baker. If you didn't, it's hindsight

Baker is going to get paid this year and will likely hamstring tampa.

Carr contract isn’t near as bad as some of you make it out to be. Our problem is all coaching.

I don’t share every thought I have on here.

Whatever. Mayfield > Carr. And much cheaper.

*If we don't touch it

Baker on a short-term deal and Jameis coming off would have us in a much better cap position moving forward.

We could sign another cast off for cheap for 2024 and possibly be in a good position cap-wise.

But instead we are fricked long-term with a mediocre team who has the potential to get pretty bad, pretty quickly.

There’s no chance if baker played like this we would just let him walk and try to sign another cap friendly option.

I get that would be ideal, but what you’re describing has no chance of happening.

Mayfield brought his team to the playoffs, Carr sitting at home. Who cares about stats.

Mayfield will get his money next season and the Bucs are dumb enough to overpay for him.

Then we will be like Carr and be an overpaid mid tier QB.

However I like the Saints in the long game between the two.

Yeah the Bucs are about to re-sign Baker now just like the Saints would have to do if they made it to the second round.

These other scenarios are fantasy GM shite.

Hell, Derek Carr could have just ended the game like Baker just did.

That final INT is Baker's career to a T. I'll take Carr; he is better in the clutch.
