Sean had his buddy Bill "offer a first round draft pick" for Brandin Cooks to gain leverage on the other teams trying to low ball the Saints. Good ole Bill! We owe you one!

Now, on a more serious note. I know I've been ripped for this in the past, but Joshua Dobbs turned in one hell of a combine. Dobbs ran a 4.66 at the combine and threw the ball very well. He has the intangibles it takes to become an elite NFL QB. No one saw it coming from Dak and no one sees it coming from Joshua Dobbs....except breauxmosexual. His mobility and arm strength also fit well in our offense. We used to and still do run a lot of plays where Drew rolls out. Imagine a Joshua Dobbs rolling out instead. Count me in. Lets nab this kid in the 7th and turn him into the next TB12. Get on the JD train Saints fans, before it's too late.

Prescott was a good college QB.

Dobbs was trash, is trash, and will continue to be trash.

Are you kidding me? Anyone who watched Dak in his breakout game at Tiger Stadium knows who he was, right then and there. From that moment on he has been fantastic. I don't think Dobbs will pan out but we will see. I think he has a lot steeper climb to make than Prescott if you were to compare where they were during their respective draft days.

lol, did you even read what that offer was?

patriots offered to switch picks with the saints, that is all. they get cooks and our #11 pick and we get their #32 pick and some no-name reject players they are willing to let us have from their team.

basic idea is its even less then a 2nd round pick

depends what article you read. the local paper here says "The Patriots offered the No. 32 overall pick as part of their package, but that wasn't enough for 23-year-old Cooks, per both sources.

The proposed package would include the Saints sending back a draft pick. If the Saints receive a first-round pick high enough, sources said, they would be willing to send back a mid-round pick."

while the local papers in new England are saying their sources with the patriots said the same thing but it was to switch first round picks plus send some players to new Orleans so it all depends on what you read.

either way, patriots pick is the last pick so its really the first pick in the second round the way I see it.

for me, if the patriots are serious then it needs to be at least 1st,2nd,and 3rd round picks for cooks because each of those picks are the last picks so the value of their 1,2,3 are really just the first pick in rounds 2,3,4 when you look at it in reality

Give up a productive starter and lose a top 11 pick to choose at 32 overall. Trey Flowers better be included in that trade, if not this would be the most foolish move by the Saints I've ever seen.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ that was my whole point, we wouldn't be gaining anything in doing any scenario of this reported deal no matter which version you pick because it was clear they weren't offering any pro bowl starters in the deal.

the way the patriots make deals is, they don't care if you win the lottery or get the next HOF player with your end of the deal, all they care about is they get a lot more then they have to give up so they only make deals where teams are coming to them wanting something.

that's why this is not a real offer, its just empty noise saying, if this cooks guy is a problem for you guys we might be willing to take him off your hands if you make it worth our while to do it lol.

I also don't think its being done in any way to help the saints as some have openly speculated, if anything, I think its done to try to dampen and reduce the value being offered for cooks because the last thing the patriots want is to have the saints contending for the playoffs where they might face them in a super bowl.
