Would you be fine with the Saints giving up next years first for this guy? Obviously he would fill a huge need but he seems like he has terrible representation.

What say you?

i don't think any team has the rookie cap space to do so. huge cap technicality issue.

So he will either have to come to agreement or sit out all year and re-enter the draft?

Pretty much. And if he does that, the Chargers aren't allowed to re-draft him.

Lol, doubt the Chargers would want to. Although, I could see Loomis re-drafting a player for the second year in a row just to prove they could get him signed this time.

Why hasn't he signed?

What's the hold up?

Absolutely. We are gonna be picking in the middle of the 1st, so why not give that up for a top 3 talent. Stuck him on the line with Cam and Sheldon. That would make for a pretty amazing d line

This is only partially true. The deadline to trade for his rights as a drafted player has passed.

The only way he can be traded for now is if he signs. Theoretically, a team could want to trade for him, make the agreement through the Chargers and then immediately trade the moment he signs the contract. It would take some extra work but it could still happen.

I'm not sure how that could work with the current structure. The Chargers would be in the hook for the signing bonus

This is almost unheard of this day and age now with the slot. Years ago this use to happen all the time but this is quite a head scratcher here. The Chargers being the Chargers I guess. Crazy!

I saw that they offered him the 2nd highest rookie contract of the year. Any ideas why he did not sign it. Is it something with the way he will be paid?
